Fierce Innovation Awards: Healthcare Edition Program Announces Finalists;
Humetrix iBlueButton App Recognized
Del Mar, CA, December 5, 2013 - Humetrix, a leading provider of consumer healthcare apps, announced today that its iBlueButton app has been selected as a finalist in this year’s Fierce Innovation Awards: Healthcare Edition. Humetrix’s iBlueButton app was recognized as a finalist in the EHR category of the awards program from the publisher of FierceHealthIT, FierceHealthcare, and FierceMobileHealthcare.
iBlueButton is available for iOS and Android devices, and allows patients and their caregivers to download their health records to their smartphone, consult it during a doctor’s appointment, and share the contents with the doctor they are seeing. iBlueButton ensures that everyone – doctor and patient – are working with a complete view of the patient’s health history, empowers the patient, and reduces the risk of medical errors and costly redundant tests caused by having an incomplete picture of the health history.
"We are delighted to have been selected as a finalist in the Fierce Innovation Awards,” said Dr. Bettina Experton, CEO, Humetrix. Today, many of us find ourselves managing not only our own care, but also that of our parents, children or other loved ones. The ability to review and share your complete health information at the point of care is a life saving and cost saving healthcare change and puts the patient – and their caregivers – in control."
"These finalists are a cross-section of game-changing solutions providers who are helping providers to transform healthcare delivery and improve care,” said Wendy Johnson, FierceMarkets’ healthcare group publisher. “This is truly an exciting time in healthcare. Disruptive changes are happening that will lead to lasting improvements and millions of saved—and improved—lives."
Finalists were selected by a distinguished panel of CIOs and executives from renowned U.S. hospitals and healthcare systems, including: Mayo Clinic, Boston Children’s Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
