Humetrix EVP Medical Affairs Chris Burrow to Speak on FTC Panel on
Privacy Implications of Consumer-Controlled Health Data

Washington, D.C., May 5, 2014 - Chris Burrow, EVP of Medical Affairs at Humetrix, the mobile apps company dedicated to putting patients’ records in the palms of their hands, will join government and industry luminaries at a Federal Trade Commission seminar on the privacy ramifications of consumer generated and controlled health data, taking place on Wednesday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to noon in Washington, D.C. Other organizations represented include: FTC; Center for Democracy & Technology; PatientsLikeMe; and Office of the National Coordinator, Department of Health & Human Services. Representing the only mobile app developer on the panel, Dr. Burrow will discuss the technologies and standards, such as Blue Button, that allow patients to safely and securely manage their own health records and will review the features of the Humetrix iBlueButton mobile app which enables patients to securely download, receive, aggregate, annotate and transmit their health records using their own mobile devices.
