Humetrix Presents its Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Mobile Apps SOS QR and ICEBlueButton at both the IAEM – USA 2014 in San Antonio, TX, and the 2014 HIE in EMS Summit in Los Angeles, CA
Del Mar, Calif., November 17, 2014 - Humetrix will be presenting its emergency and disaster preparedness apps ICEBlueButton and SOS QR – emergency apps that allow first responders to quickly identify critical information that can improve the efficiency and quality of care in an emergency. The apps are available for iOS and Android devices and allow individuals to create an emergency record that EMTs, ED personnel, and Good Samaritans can immediately access via standard QR code scanning to be informed of patients’ medical conditions, medications, life-threatening allergies, and to quickly notify emergency contacts.
Using any QR code scanner, medical personnel can scan the SOS QR or ICEBlueButton QR code on the patient’s smartphone lock screen and quickly identify any pertinent medical history. In addition to providing critical information, when activated, the apps will automatically generate an email to the user’s emergency contacts, including a map of the location where the incident took place. SOS QR also features an SOS Button that allows users to notify their own contacts of the need for help and their location with the touch of a button; and an OK button that can let contacts know when help has arrived or if they are safe.
“Timely response and immediate access to critical information are of utmost importance in an emergency situation,” said Dr. Bettina Experton, CEO of Humetrix. “By allowing EMS personnel immediate access to health and contact information– including key medications or medical conditions – and making that information readily accessible, Humetrix emergency apps ensure that the right medical decisions are made on the scene or at the hospital.”
SOS QR also allows users to change the language of the record display as they travel to different regions of the world or here in the US to select their native language to create their emergency record.SOS QR is now available in English and French and includes support for specific medications and immunizations available in the US and France. Support for Spanish and additional languages and region-specific medical information listings will be added over the coming months.
SOS QR and ICEBlueButton are free to download on Google Play and iTunes and offers in app purchases of $9.99 for use of the SOS and OK buttons of the SOS QR app and the Email Auto-Alert with geo-location feature for both ICEBlueButton and SOS QR.
