Humetrix to Demo iBlueButton® at mHealth Summit, Booth 418

Award-Winning App Puts Health Records in the Palm of Patient’s Hands

Washington, DC, December 4, 2014 - With iBlueButton from Humetrix, on display at the mHealth Summit booth 418, millions of Americans and their family caregivers can receive, annotate, store and share their health records securely on their mobile phone. The mHealth Summit takes place December 7-10 at the Gaylord National Resort.

iBlueButton, available for iOS and Android devices, allows consumers and their caregivers to securely download to their mobile device Medicare, Medicaid, VA and TRICARE records and receive record summaries from their providers sent by Direct messaging from their EMR systems. Patients can take their medical history with them on their mobile device and allow any clinician to be appraised of their full list of medications, current conditions or other provider names and contact information.

With iBlueButton consumers can safely store their records on their smartphone or tablet – data is never kept in the cloud, which protects a patient’s privacy and security. iBlueButton ensures that both the doctor and patient are working with a complete view of the patient’s health history. By empowering the patient, iBlueButton reduces the risk of medical errors and costly redundant tests resulting from having an incomplete picture of the health history.

“There are more than 400,000 deaths in U.S. resulting from preventable medical errors every year, and many of which are caused by a lack of up-to-date patient history,” said Dr. Bettina Experton, Humetrix’s CEO. “On average, Medicare beneficiaries see seven different doctors every year, and most cannot exchange health records with other physicians. iBlueButton is designed to put the patient in control of this critical need for health information exchange by arming them with their up to date medical history for every medical visit, and ensuring that everyone responsible for their care has all of the relevant information.”

Dr. Experton will be participating in the panel Coordinating Care with mHealth on Monday, December 8, at 1:30 pm, Potomac C and will discuss the simplicity of iBlueButton for physician and patient use in a clinical setting.
