Chicago, April 8, 2015 - Humetrix is at HIMSS this week, showing TENSIO™, the first in a suite of chronic condition coaching apps, which gives consumers more control of their healthcare. In consultation with their physician, TENSIO lets anyone with hypertension better manage blood pressure-related lifestyle factors and prescribed medications. TENSIO integrates HealthKit data from users’ monitoring devices, (for example, blood pressure monitors and activity trackers), with other medical data, and then applies medical intelligence to generate individual iPhone and Apple Watch notifications. TENSIO is available for download via the iTunes App Store for use on iPhone today and with the Apple Watch once it is available on April 24.
Humetrix will also showcase their SOS QR personal safety app, optimized to run on the Apple Watch, and iBlueButton, the only application which lets individuals securely access and aggregate on their mobile device their records from the VA, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and certified EHR systems . Humetrix will be in Booth #8467, North Hall, McCormick Place.
“Like Apple, Humetrix continues to innovate at the intersection of mobility and health,” said Dr. Bettina Experton, CEO of Humetrix. “By offering tools like TENSIO, SOS QR and iBlueButton, that give the consumer more power and visibility into their own care, and making actionable information accessible in the palms of their hands and on their wrists, we are part of the revolution that is making patient-centric care a reality.”
Developed by physicians specializing in internal medicine, nephrology and public health, with experience building award-winning consumer medical apps, TENSIO puts self monitoring device data into context with medical record information and clinical guidelines in a single view. Armed with this information, consumers can actively manage their health in consultation with their doctors to best monitor and control their chronic condition. Apple Watch users using TENSIO will also be able to access their blood pressure readings, and receive personal notifications on their wrist as well as on their phone. Features include:
• | Seamless integration with iPhone HealthKit data collected on the user’s device from Apple-compatible digital monitoring devices (blood pressure monitor, digital scale, activity tracker, etc.) |
• | Automated feed of medications and medical conditions from other Humetrix medical apps iBlueButton and SOS QR, or easy self-entry through pick lists |
• | Automated notifications on blood pressure affecting medications and conditions |
• | Medication and blood pressure monitoring reminders |
TENSIO builds on iOS app group technology with automated data exchange among Humetrix’s family of medical apps for ultimate user convenience. This allows users with an iOS device to benefit from the convenience of auto-populating their TENSIO app with medications and conditions aggregated and stored within other Humetrix apps: iBlueButton for self management of medical records; and SOS QR for emergency care and personal safety.
SOS QR
SOS QR makes it easy to alert emergency contacts of your location and need for help with the touch of
a button. And when you can’t call for help yourself, SOS QR makes it easy for EMTs, ER doctors, or
Good Samaritans to immediately access your health information and send an automatic alert to your
emergency contacts.
SOS QR, available in English, French and Spanish, allows the user to change the language of the display as they travel and includes support for medications, conditions and immunizations available in the US, France and Spanish speaking countries (Latin and Central America and Spain). Available as a free download on Google Play and iTunes, SOS QR allows anyone to easily create an emergency record on their smartphone and generate a QR code that can be saved on the phone lock screen, or printed on stickers or wallet cards. With a $9.99 in-app purchase, users can also access an “SOS button" on their home screen and let emergency contacts know where they are and that they need help. If no further help is needed, or if the users want to reassure loved ones in a disaster scenario, the simple tap of an "OK button" will send a message stating that they are safe. SOS QR will also be available for use on the Apple Watch in May.
iBlueButton
Humetrix is participating in the Interoperability Showcase, booth 2084, South Hall with the ONC, the
Veterans Administration, Cerner, and NATE , conducting live demonstrations of iBlueButton and
showcasing the power of its DIRECT enabled C-CDA health information exchange solution. iBlueButton
allows providers using 2014 certified EMRs to easily transmit C-CDA visit or transition of care
summaries to their patients’ mobile devices for near term interoperability. iBlueButton is available as
a $9.99 paid app for download from iTunes and Google Play.
With iBlueButton, patients and their caregivers can download or receive their health records to their smartphone or tablet, consult them during a doctor’s appointment, and share the contents of individual records or the convenient record summary with the doctor they are seeing. This ensures that everyone – doctor and patient – is working with a complete view of the patient’s health history, empowers the patient, and reduces the risk of mistakes caused by having an incomplete picture of the medical history.
